Siri becomes “profoundly more capable” in iOS 27.3 and finally delivers on Apple’s promises
Siri AI is finally getting a feature that Apple has been hinting since WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) 2024. With the iOS 27.3 Beta, Siri can now finally interact heavily with third-party apps, a capability that Apple is now finally allowing developers to play with.

Although the interface with Apple’s first-party apps had improved dramatically, Siri was still very limited in what it could do with third-party software on your iPhone. With the Beta version, developers can now allow Siri to interact with their apps and perform complex tasks with just a simple verbal prompt from the user.
Siri can now look inside your apps and understand data, retrieve something you’ve requested, and even make changes to any data in a third-party app. In short, it is now much more capable of being a true intelligent digital assistant as Apple had demonstrated more than two years ago.
One more step towards Apple Intelligence

It’s no secret that Apple has lagged behind its rivals in the artificial intelligence department. Even now, the only way Apple was able to catch up to some extent is because the company let Google’s Gemini model handle Siri while research into its own models continues.
What Apple promised in 2024, what it cleverly named Apple Intelligence (because it can also be abbreviated to IA), is still incomplete. at Apple notes on iOS 27.3, the company says that Siri AI is “profoundly more capable” than the previous Siri, and integration with third-party apps will ensure this remains true. iOS 27.3 is released to the public, Apple’s customer base will get a much more capable version of Siri. Combined with what Siri AI can already do thanks to Google’s help, the AI experience on Apple devices is almost equivalent to what can be found in rival offerings. Although, unfortunately, for many users that doesn’t really say much.

But ultimately, this is just one more step toward Apple’s ultimate goal: appeasing its user base until it can offer its AI services running on its own models. However, I hope those models are smarter than the current Siri. At least for Apple’s sake.
It’s been a busy year for Apple:
