Strands is the latest NYT word game after Wordle, Spelling Bee, and Connections, and it’s a lot of fun. It can be difficult, though, so read on for my Strands suggestions.

Is it just me or is this game missing some words?
We have FOUR, which is the SQUARE NUMBER of two, and NINE (the square of three), but then we miss sixteen (the square of four) before jumping back in with TWENTY-FIVE (the square of five) and THIRTY-SIX (the square of six). However, we then skip seven and eight, before moving on to EIGHTY-ONE, the square of nine.
Maybe I’m thinking too much about this…
Anyway, this quibble aside, the most difficult aspect of this game was trying to find the non-game words for this column. There really were hardly any, so I hope you didn’t need clues.
