I began, as I’m sure most players did, by searching for the words linked to the two letters Z.
However, while BREEZE was very simple, ZEPHYR wasn’t something I would have gotten without the fact that its lyrics connected downwards.
ZEPHYR is, like all words in today’s games, a way of describing a GENTLE WIND, but before today its only appearance in my life was in The song of the zephyr by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, which seemed to imply that it was some kind of magical vehicle in which we could fly.

Strands is the NYT’s not-so-new word game, after Wordle and Connections. It is now a full member of the NYT Games group that has been running for a year and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
