NYT Strands Today (Game #943): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game number 943 are…
- SUSPICIOUS
- COVERT
- TORTUOUS
- CAUTIOUS
- FURTIVE
- SPANGRAM: FUTURE
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 1 track
I’m not saying today’s words were hidden in any particular STEALTH or COVERT way, but after putting on SHIFTY I went blank and asked our friend to get moving.
Today’s words can be interpreted in several opposing ways. The first is equally creepy; the kind of activities that a busybody or, worse yet, a voyeur might engage in. Alternatively, they can be viewed more positively as the kind of skills a military agent might employ in a covert operation (not that the Marines would probably call what they do ESCALATING!).
Today was also notable for an excellent spangram that backtracked on itself; congratulations if you saw it first.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Thursday, October 1, game #942)
- BREAK
- CRUMBLE
- COLLAPSE
- DISSOLVE
- FRAGMENT
- SPANGRAM: BEYOND REPAIR
